In the support program for 10,000 new exporters, mostly for SMEs, JETRO proposes support measures to support everyone who is newly embarking on exports. Those supports include escort-type support by experts, development of products for export, branding and promotion, market development using EC sites, and matching with export trading companies.
The Trademark Law enacted in 2019 will come into effect from 1 April 2023, according to the official notification.The Ministry of Commerce will receive filing for a trademark from the effective date. The centers will be opened to receive trademark applications in Yangon city and Nay Pyi Taw. This law will promote investment and commerce by protecting the trademarks and interest and legal rights of the owners. It also helps elevate the brand’s value and penetrate global markets, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said at an awareness event for the Trademark Law.

登録可能な商標の拡充
商標法について、他人が既に登録している商標と類似する商標は登録できませんが、先行商標権者の同意があり出所混同のおそれがない場合には登録可能にします。併せて、不正競争防止法について、上記により登録された商標について、不正の目的でなくその商標を使用する行為等を不正競争として扱わないこととします。また、商標法について、自己の名前で事業活動を行う者等がその名前を商標として利用できるよう、氏名を含む商標も、一定の場合には、他人の承諾なく登録可能にします。
デジタル空間における模倣行為の防止
不正競争防止法について、商品形態の模倣行為について、デジタル空間における他人の商品形態を模倣した商品の提供行為も不正競争行為の対象とし、差止請求権等を行使できるようにします。

カフェチェーン「コーヒーハウス・シャノアール」のブランド終了を運営会社C-Unitedが発表しました。最後の店舗「京王八王子店」（東京都八王子市）が3月24日に閉店となります。シャノアールは1965年に東京・福生に誕生。シャノアールというブランド名には、文化発祥の地となった仏パリのシャノアールのように、日本でもコーヒー文化を広めたいとの思いがあるといいます。運営元のシャノアールは2021年に珈琲館と合併し、現在は合併でできた新会社C-Unitedが運営しています。

The operating company C-United announced the end of the brand of the cafe chain “Coffee House Chanoir”.
Dallas-based Mexican restaurant chain Mi Cocina filed a trademark lawsuit against a Houston establishment operating as ‘Mi Cocina Mexicana’ in Texas federal court.Mi Cocina Ltd., which operates 22 restaurants in Texas and Oklahoma, sent three cease-and-desist letters to the alleged infringer, its complaint in the US District Court in the Southern District of Texas said. The infringer agreed by phone to stop after the third letter, but ultimately never did, Mi Cocina said.Mi Cocina has operated for more than three decades and first registered trademarks covering restaurants in 2000, according to the complaint.
