In early December, Toyota applied for the trademark 4Active with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Now we’re left scratching our heads at what vehicle the Japanese brand will apply the name to. Is the 4Active a concept or production-bound vehicle? Or is it neither, and Toyota simply applied for the trademark to cover its own behind and get a hold on a name that it may want to use at some point in the future.
A new trademark filing in the United States for Lexus LX600 hints at a future update for the brand’s range-topping SUV. The United States Patent and Trademark Office shows that the application is still processing.
First discovered by Autoguide, Toyota on October 10 filed to protect the LX 600 name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Such a name hints at a new model to either join or replace the existing LX 570 at Lexus.

A fresh report out says Mercedes-Benz has filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office to trademark various versions of a new “O-Class” badge. According to AutoGuide.com, the Stuttgart-based firm filed the applications under the classification for “motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines” on 4 February.
