In an interview with The Paper on Monday, the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) said that the country has seen 16,000 trademark applications filed, encapsulating the term ‘metaverse.’The CNIPA has strictly opposed malicious trademark registrations, especially if the company is trying to hoard trademarks without apparent purpose for use.

米通商代表部（ＵＳＴＲ）は１７日、偽造品の販売やその手助けが疑われる市場をまとめた「悪名高い市場」リストに中国の騰訊控股（テンセント）やアリババ・グループ・ホールディングが運営する電子商取引サイトを追加した。このリストは、大規模な商標偽造や著作権侵害への関与、もしくは手助けが報告されている４２のオンライン市場と３５の物理的な市場を掲載。

国際商標登録出願 手続変更
⑴ 個別手数料の納付方法の変更（二段階納付の廃止）
上記の状況を踏まえ、国際商標登録出願に係る個別手数料の納付について、二段階納付方式から、一括納付方式に変更することとした。
⑵ 登録査定の謄本の送達方法の見直し
上記の状況を踏まえ、登録査定に記載されている事項を、ＷＩＰＯ国際事務局を経由して「保護を与える旨の声明」とともに、海外の出願人に電子的に通知することをもって、国際商標登録出願に係る「登録査定の謄本」の送達に代えることができるようにすることとした。

改正法の施行は、他の改正部分と同様に、令和４年４月１日からのように読めますが、WIPOでの公式な個別手数料の二段階納付の廃止については未だ発表がない状態です。マドプロを利用する外国人のための規定であり、WIPOの調整も必要な筈ですから４月からずれる可能性もあります。(2022.2.16)
