“Mulberry Leaf Tea” and “Kai no Mulberry Powder” commercialized by the Kai City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Mikio Nakamura) have been registered as regional collective trademarks recognized by Japan Patent Office.
Mandokoro tea, a specialty of the Okueigenji area in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture, has recently been registered as a regional collective trademark of the Japan Patent Office.
JA Kaga, Kaga City Yutakamachi Fruit Tree Producers Association, and Kaga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Group (Kaga YEG) are collaborating to brand locally produced grapes, and the name “Kaga Grape” will be approved by the Patent Office by the 30th. It is expected that it will be registered as a regional collective trademark.
More than 300 years ago, seeds were brought from the Tanba region of Kyoto and the Yoro region of Gifu to the present-day Oyamada district of Nishiki-cho, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture (former Saimyoji Village), where they were cultivated. The chestnuts that have been harvested are called “Saimyoji chestnuts”.
