Canon and Amazon jointly sue account holders in US

TOKYO, May 11, 2023—Canon Inc. and Canon U.S.A., Inc. together with Amazon.com, Inc., and Amazon.com Services LLC jointly filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington against 29 selling accounts which sold camera batteries and chargers in the Amazon store in the U.S., alleging infringement of Canon’s trademark rights.

　キヤノンがカメラ用バッテリーを巡り、Amazonと共同で米国で起こしていた商標権侵害訴訟で勝訴したことが明らかになった。　これは米Amazonにおけるカメラ用バッテリーと充電器の模倣品販売者に対し、2023年5月に両社が共同で提起した商標権侵害訴訟。29の販売者を相手取った大規模な訴訟だったが、提訴後、いずれの被告からも法廷での反論がなかったとのことで、今月に入って侵害行為の停止および損害賠償などを命じる判決が裁判所より下され、キヤノンおよびAmazonが勝訴するかたちとなった
