くまモンの名前問題、実は、同じくまモンでも「熊本熊（ション・ベン・ション）」「酷MA萌（クマモン）」という二つの名称が存在しているのです。 くまモンの中国語での呼び方を問う、記者手製の質問表 非公式の「熊本熊」が拡散 くまモンは2010年に登場。2011年の「ゆるキャラグランプリ」で優勝し、一躍有名になりました。中国や台湾の日本文化好きの間でも人気が広がり、いつしか「熊本熊」という愛称がつけられてネットを中心に広がりました。 しかし、くまモンは設定上「クマではない」ということになっています。熊本県とすれば「熊本熊」をそのまま使うわけにはいきません。 そうこうしている間に「熊本熊」はどんどん広まり、今や、中国の商標検索サイト「商標網」を調べると「熊本熊」や「熊本熊 KUMAMON」といった名称がいくつも出てくるような状態に。

農林水産省は、本日、南郷トマト、ヤマダイかんしょ、岩出山凍り豆腐、岩手木炭を地理的表示（GI）として、特定農林水産物等の名称の保護に関する法律（地理的表示法）に基づき、登録（登録番号第63号から第66号）したので、お知らせします。

6日農水省はヤマダイかんしょなど新たに、4品目を地理的表示（GI）に登録したと発表した。今回、福島県の南郷トマトが登録され、福島県では初の事例となる。農業メディアの農ledge。
